I'm 18 weeks along! And I've already caved and started shopping for Dax already this week- he got 2 polos at Tommy Hilfiger, a pair of little beige boat-shoes, and his nursery bedding!!!
His walls are a shade of green that this set will look really cute with, and I was pretty set on doing Safari animals anyway! :) I'll post pictures of the actual nursery once I get it going. Not like he'll set foot in it until he's almost 1 if he's anything like his sister (who slept in our room in a pac-n-play for 9 months because she wanted to nurse 1,000 times a night-I didn't mind though!)- but it's an American tradition to have it ready beforehand! :)
And here I am- this is actually taken at 17 weeks, but same difference.

PooP!
Someone pooped in the big girl potty this morning- and initiated it all herself! She's been tinkling in it for a while, but not consistently- and has never asked to go #2, so we were really proud! Yes, I took a picture of the actual poopie- but I'll save you (and Ada in the future if she reads any of these) from that!

Halloween Festivities
You may or may not remember my post from this summer about Ada's obession with Toy Story 1, 2, and 3- but it's still going strong! So she's going to be Jesse from Toy Story 2 and 3 for Halloween this year- and MorMor MADE her costume! Here is Ada all dolled up ready to go to her school BFF Chloe's "Wear-Your-Halloween-Costume" birthday party! (And a few more pictures at the end of the actual party - those two are adorable together!)

Gender Reveal!
I'm 16 weeks along! And we KNOW WHAT THE BABY IS! We bribed my doctor to do an ultrasound at my appointment today:
Catchy poem-
Pink and blue homemade sugar cookies-
And she agreed despite being uber busy and tired! (Hard to resist baked goods and stupid poems.)
Waiting in the ultrasound room with Ada (and Casey, behind the camera! An audience made us even more persuading.)
Here is that sweet baby-

Thank you, LizAnn!!!
Dear LizAnn-
I am not sending you a traditional Thank You card because who KNOWS how long it would take for it to make it's way from Casey's posession to yours!!!!
So, thank you SO MUCH for Ada's new tutu!! She LOVES it- and it's so comfortable! Good job finding that one. Here are some pictures of Ada wearing it around the house after opening it (with the backpack and Happy Meal sunglasses that she was already wearing)- they are terrible quality because I just snapped them with my phone, but they get the point across!! :)

Nice Day for Another Zoo Visit
It was basically the same price for Ada's zoo party last weekend to either purchase a membership and get the "member discount" on the party, or throw it as non-members... so obviously we went the annual pass route! The weather this weekend was GLORIOUS, so we packed up again early this morning for our second zoo trip in one week! Here are some cute pictures, and I thankfully remembered my video camera on the carousel ride this time! :)
Zoo entrance: kind of a sugar high from donuts and chocolate milk
Walking around holding Daddy's hand.
Hanging around, watching monkeys.

Baby #2 Update
I'm 14 weeks pregnant- officially into my 2nd trimester! Hallelujah! I'm already feeling 150% better, and am feeling the beginnings of the "endless energy" of this stage in the game. Still exhausted by about 8:30 at night, but doing great during the day!
I went to the doctor last week, and we ended up doing an impromptu ultrasound (one of the many reasons I LLLOOOVVVEE her!)- so here is Baby #2 growing in there at 13 weeks gestation! :) I was convinced it was a girl, until I *thought* I saw a little hint of something between its legs during this sonogram- Dr. Mullin couldn't confirm anything, so I will be bringing her baked goods and bribes at the 16 weeks appointment to do another one so we can determine if it is a BOY or GIRL!!!!!!!
And here I am at 14 weeks (I took this this morning). I am about the size I was at 5 months with Ada, and I am only 3.5 months along- so embarrassing. Oh well, the sooner I can fit into maternity clothes the better, because those suckers are COMFORTABLE! :)

Sparkly Shoe Shenanigans
Most of you know that Ada is a S-H-O-E girl. Shoes, tutus, and bows. And stuffed animals. But this post is about her shoe fetish. We went to Target on Wednesday to piddle around, and of course walked out with about $40 worth of toddler clothes- including a pair of "shiny shoes" that were adorable. See picture below of "Before school" shoes. So Ada spoke all night of her "shiny shoes," and couldn't wait to wear them to school on Thursday. So we picked out an outfit revolving around the shoes. And Ada was as excited about the "shiny shoes" as she gets about her boots. So I leave her happy and proud, and I am glad she will have a great day at school...
So I get a message around 10 am from one of the girls at school saying she "shiny shoes" were getting glitter everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Like someone sprinkled glitter intentionally all over the carpet. Which can't happen. The kids in that room sleep on mats on the floor for naptime, play on the floor all day, and are still prone to eating and licking things on the floor....
Of course they had to take the shoes away, and Ada lost it. Now, I'm usually a pretty hard, strict Mom. I don't like to give in to toddler crap- and I'm all about Ada learning to deal with frustration, not getting her way, etc. However, this KILLED ME! I couldn't stand knowing that she was feeling so devastated about having her "shiny shoes" taken away for reasons she didn't understand!
So I told my principal the entire story. He let me leave school, run to the mall, and buy her a newer, improved version of her "shiny shoes" to take up to school for her to wear. See the "After school" picture below. These are better than "shiny shoes." They are "SPARKLY SHOES!" Ada loves them more, and hasn't asked for the old pair since! :) (These are sequence, not glitter- that is sewn on individually, so there is NO shedding sparkles everywhere!)
On an even happier note, Ada's teachers at school MADE her a TON of bows for her birthday! She wore one of them for her birthday (see post below about her zoo party- it's the hot pink and zebra bow!); and she came home one day with 3 pigtails and 3 diferent bows! We LOVE her teachers, and they LOVE Ada!
