BACKYARD REVAMP!

So, when we moved into our beloved Redbud Terrace home, the backyard was the area that was the primary "eye sore." We've put off tackling it for many reasons: financial, time, and physical demands were a few of them. Well, it got a jump start when The Dowells (the original Dowells, Casey's parents!), offered to put in a sprinkler system for us. WOH! Yes, please! We never dreamed of having such a luxury. We used to get in fights over leaving the sprinkler on for over 50 minutes.... ok not fights, but there was some eye rolling. Anywho- we've been working diligently ever since on our new-found pride in our backyard! Here are a few (an understatement) picture of the before, middle, and almost after pictures! There are a few minor details- like patio furniture- that will come to fruition in the future, but for now we are happy, and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves outdoors in our OWN backyard!

First, the people who gave up their precious time, energy, (and money in some cases) to lend a helping hand:

(Ada- tagging along for hours, days, weekends on end)

(Uncle Drew- pooped after a hard day of manual labor!)

(Grandpa- this was amazing.)
BEFORE:

AFTER:
(We have an awesome sprinkler system! And soft grass!)

(We planted Cypress trees because the make us feel like we're back in France.)

(Lucky ones with the generator)

(Azalea tree. Can I NOT kill it, please?)

(The back beds)

(The back beds, with landscape stones!)

(Casey, wheeling flagstone for the sides of the patio- one side for the grill, one side for the garden. Which I should just do away with.)
(Ada playing in her new backyard! Wait 'til my next post- her backyard toys get even better!)

(We bought a pergola from Lowes! Casey put it together in just a few hours- it's so awesome! He's so awesome!)
(We love sitting under the pergola- day and night!)

(View from the back. We will invest in patio furniture eventually; but we are both ready to take a break from the weekend splurges for now! Maybe there will be good sales at the end of summer?) To be continued!!!
