Halloween 2013

What a wonderful Halloween!!!! We had adorable Halloween decorations in our yard, had a block Halloween carnival in the culdesac, and trick or treated with a million kids in adorable costumes to the best neighbors ever!

Ada was Elphaba from her favorite show Wicked. Dax was a precious robot (we searched high and low for a "wed wobot" costume- but he finally gave in and accepted silver was all there was), and Tate was a box of Tater Tots!!! And of course I had to be a Sonic carhop carrying around that large order of tots! Daddy just went as himself!

I didn't get any good pics of the kids trick or treating- it was dark and a huge cluster, but you get the point!!!

Every neighbor was in charge of bringing a game for our culdesac carnival- here's the Dowell's!
Ada in her last minute special shirt headed to school on Halloween day!
Tater Tots!
Elphaba!

Robot!

Eating his apple from bobbing for apples (which he just stuck his hand in and grabbed) and trying to pop a balloon for some prizes-

Waiting in line for the bucket toss-

Bridgeland Howlaween Fest

This weekend. This is why we moved here. In addition to the crazy awesome kid friendly amenities, and crazy awesome neighbors, Bridgeland goes all out and throws these festivals twice a year that are completely spectacular. Nature fest in the spring had a crocodile encounter, a monkey show with some famous monkey tamer dude, and acrobats/ aerialists. Howlaween fest is centered around the dogs. Magic show, dog costume contest, a million bouncy houses, little dog shows, a pumpkin patch, etc. Such a crazy but fun day!

Dax the robot and Ada as Elphaba from Wicked! She will have her face painted green on Halloween, but wanted to keep a clean slate in case there was facepainting  there! (Which there was)
Murphy dressed as a prisoner. A prisoner in his own backyard.

2 adults 2 kids 1 baby and 1 dog on 2 bikes :)
Robot drives a fire truck!

Face painting-
Dax insisted on a green robot :)

Painting pumpkins- love all of the picture attempts, couldn't decide on just one :)

Witches and robots enjoy inflatables too!

Mommy and Tay-Tay-
Walking Murphy around-
Notice Dax had been gradually disrobing. Watch for more.

Making wax hands-

Heading home! It got too hot for Halloween costumes.

I love them so much!

4th of July!!

Omg this was the BEST 4th of July EVER!!!! Casey took off the Friday after the 4th so we had 4 full FUN days! Lots of swimming, grilling out, and even 2 fireworks shows!

Daddy and Tate firing up the grill earlyThursday morning to smoke some ribs-
Swimming! Love Tate's wetsuit papoose :)

Here are some videos of the kids swimming- they are such little fish!
Dax jumping in-

Dax and Ada swimming (I love Dax in the background during Ada's segment)-

Mommy and TayTay hanging in the shade while the Bigs and Daddy play in the sun-

Dax jumping in the big pool - this kid has zero fear.

There was a sno cone truck parked outside of the pool when we were leaving. DUH we stopped!
Picking their flavors-
Tiger's Blood was a hit!

Driving in the Camaro, wasting time until it was dark enough for the fireworks show!
Casey took the kids down to the culdesac to watch the show from a distance- we are SO going next year. It was awesome! Our neighbors shared their sparklers with the kids afterwards- scary for mama, fun for everyone else!

THEN the next day we made the trek to Moody Gardens!!! They were having a "Band in the Sand" event with another fireworks show. Why not!?

Checking out the Dino exhibit-
"Show me your scared faces!!!"-
4D Wizard of Oz!
Butterflies-
"YEAH! for butterflies!"-
That's a huge bat and a sloth, just hanging out in the trees above us!
That's Dax's blue sleeve- he wanted to grab a butterfly so bad. It was really throwing a wrench in Ada's calm, graceful attempts to let one land on her.
Palm Beach!!!!! Lots of swimming and jamming out to the band, then the fireworks show. My phone died so I didn't get a ton of pictures. The one of Dax clapping is actually of him serving a time out for throwing sand, ha!

Saturday we swam at Chris and Jenica's with all of the neighbors- so fun! This is the only picture I took-

Sunday mommy and daddy made the executive decision to take it totally easy and relax a little! What a happy, happy stay-cation!
