Bridgeland Howlaween Fest

This weekend. This is why we moved here. In addition to the crazy awesome kid friendly amenities, and crazy awesome neighbors, Bridgeland goes all out and throws these festivals twice a year that are completely spectacular. Nature fest in the spring had a crocodile encounter, a monkey show with some famous monkey tamer dude, and acrobats/ aerialists. Howlaween fest is centered around the dogs. Magic show, dog costume contest, a million bouncy houses, little dog shows, a pumpkin patch, etc. Such a crazy but fun day!

Dax the robot and Ada as Elphaba from Wicked! She will have her face painted green on Halloween, but wanted to keep a clean slate in case there was facepainting  there! (Which there was)

Hilarious Things My Kids Said Today

Me: doctoring a cut on Ada's finger.

Ada: mom!!  IS THAT ANT POISON!?!?

These are random statements by Dax in his carseat- the only time he's still enough to talk much.

Dax: A fly is in the car. I don't want him give me a sunburn.

Dax: I need daddy's wrench.

Dax: I don't like tape.

Dax: I want my door OPEN.

Dax: A spider web would make my tongue sticky.

Dax: My hair is not blonde.

Me: What color is it then?

Dax: It's hairy.

Then we went on a walk where Ada's wheel popped off- so I had to walk about a mile carrying it while Ada pushed Tate and Dax stopped at every.single.house to look at their Halloween decor- loved it though! 

Tate fell asleep snuggling with Ada :)

And the latest at Monogram Cafe- now that game day tanks and sorority bid day orders are slowing down I'm able to play around a little! 

Awesome Day Photo Dump!

Ooohhhhh we had an awesome day!! I ran to Wal Mart to grab some calamine lotion for Dax (world's lowest threshold for mosquito bite itching)- and we walked out with a NEW BIKE for Ada! I know, I know, we should've waited until Christmas 2.5 mos away- but she hasn't had a bike in 1+ years, and she hasn't had a bike she can actually ride EVER!! So when she hopped on this big kid bike and cruised around the store like no big deal, I was sold. (We LOVE to take our scooters and big wheels to the park- and I've been wishing she had a bike to ride) We pulled out Dax's red trike (how is he already almost too big for his!?!? Looks like I might be making another bike purchase next month!), packed a quick picnic dinner, and headed to the park where we played our hearts out until dusk. Autumn is here, and I'm SO HAPPY!

Proud girl! She is a total pro- taking sharp turns, busting u-turns, falling off and getting right back on!

Tate -7 months (+1 week)

Hhhhoooowwwww is he 7 months!?!? He's on the last half of year one. It's going too fast. 

He's got 4 teeth, and two more top ones are actually breaking through as we speak. He crawls like a maniac, typically on the hunt for outlets and cords. He's found the stairs and attempts to climb them but remains unsuccessful.... For now. He pulls up on anything he can, and just recently begun scaling up and down things long enough to walk on.  He LOVES to bang things together and on different surfaces- you can tell he gets very proud when he's able to produce a new sound. No babbling consonants yet, but continues to experiment lots with decibel, tone, and  range. He will carry on an entire conversation in screeches. :)

Not crazy about solids- so I usually just put something on his tray and let him play. He got moved to his nursery a few weeks ago and is doing great! I'll post finished decorated pictures when I cruelly finish decorating it :) I'll post a few sneak peaks here. Here is his 7 month (+1 week) photoshoot!

So I tried my hand at making his crib bumper. I didn't necessarily save any money by doing this (cute fabric is NOT CHEAP)- but I got EXACTLY what I wanted. So neutral gain :) I did a decent job. I don't like measuring and numbers so I don't do it. Which sounds disastrous but I make it work. :) 

This Noah's ark lamp was in Dax's nursery when he had a safari room- I painted it white and recovered his lamp shade! And monogrammed it for fun.

And his curtains. I couldn't find the exact navy and white striped fabric I had envisioned... But I DID find it in the form of a shower curtain!!! So I bought 2 ($10 each on sale!!!), flipped over the top and sewed a curtain rod pocket,  and extended it with a little pop of green. Again, no measuring. I'm lucky it all matched up- they actually turned out REALLY awesome.
